Inpatient Mental Health Care

MedStar St. Mary's is dedicated to a multidisciplinary approach to mental health care — psychiatrists and case managers work as a team with psychologists, social workers, clinical counselor, and psychiatric nurses to address all patient need. We also make sure we work closely with each patient and all family members, as appropriate, to customize a treatment plan that may include counseling and psychological education, symptom management, supportive group therapy, expressive therapy, and medication education.

We strive to:

  • Provide compassionate, ethical, and scientifically competent patient care
  • Provide outstanding educational programs for psychiatry residents and medical students
  • Advance mental health knowledge, training, and services through innovative and comprehensive research
